Smile 89 460 FI Timing Chain

Will early pre 87 timing chains fit an 89 460 cu in fuel injection motor.

If I want to replace the stock chain with a heavy duty double roller chain, what should I use? I can't find a high performance application for an 460 FI motor.

I believe that FI engines do not use the 8 degree retard chains, so will an early "straight up" chain work?

I know that the large truck 370/429 chains are double roller. They are the same cam and block but the crank gear inside dia might be to big?

I would suggest standing at the parts counter untill they bring all the various ones out for you to look at, sometimes that's the easiest way, just compare them.

I beleive I saw 429/460 double roller timing chain and gear sets on the Ford Racing website, if that helps.
