Help! Motorcraft 4350 Carb tech question

This is for those carb gurus! (and those with the spec books!)
I need the clearance measurement for the metering rod adjustment.
It is the clearance between the hanger and top of vaccuum cylinder.
None of my books seem to have it.

Gee, I don't know...I think so. I have never done a carb rebuild on a 4 bbl before; thought I would give it a shot. Pretty simple to do, it seems, but now I have a spec missing. All other info is with the kit, but not this clearance... All I know is that it is different from the 4300, to which I have books on... The 4300 doesn't have the metering rods over the jets like this 4350 does...

Help! Motorcraft 4350 Carb tech question

hold vac.piston in the down position and back out metering rod screws and vac.piston screw until met.rod. hanger is fully seated on vac.piston hanger.Turn each metering rod screw in until hanger
just begins to rise from cyl.-Turn in vac.piston screw until .120"(approx.1/8") clearance is obtained between hanger & top of vac.cylinder. This is a starting point, and you may have to go
back and forth until eng. and carb are carrying a tune. Use a vacuum gage to get the highest vacuum at idel rpm's

Hope this works for ya.

Believe it or not, I got almost word-for-word what you have there, except for the .120 clearance. Thanks a bunch! The carb wasn't working worth beans, and the metering rods were about 3 turns apart from each other... Not sure if someone was messing with it before or not...
Thanks again! Now I can reassemble!
