Need some advice on EGR elimination options
I just finished putting all the engine and electronics from an 88 F250 7.5L truck into my 79. All is well, and it runs pretty damn good i must say. The previous owner had done some smog elimination and kinda got rid of SOME stuff, but not others. I have a feeling, that with what is done, it is most likely not letting the TAB/TAD solenoids, egr, and that circuit not opperate, or opperate wrong. The truck is running rich for sure, still good, but rich none the less. Can i do some things to trick the computer, or bypass, or something for this circuit? I have no smog tests or anything where i am at. Thanks alot,
Brian

On the plugs for the 3 solenoids, you can use a 10,000ohm(10k) resistors to replace them.
For the EVP, you use a few resistors. Here is a drawing I found. http://fordfuelinjection.com/images/EGR_eliminator.gif
I've done this and have no codes and a great running engine.

I forgot to mention, you will probably have to order those EVP resistors online. Plus, 1/4 watt is just fine, 1/2 watt is not needed.
My truck, with the EVP unplugged, ran lean in the low to mid-rpm range. It idled a bit rich. I never ran it with the solenoids unplugged, but I guess it could make it run rich or lean as well.
If you can, take your O2 sensor out and inspect it. You may need a new one. They usually cause the engine to run rich when they are worn out.
Also, it would help if you checked for trouble codes. Then list what shows up.

for my porpose, i assume its causing faulty readings for the computer, and the fact that my truck has no emmissions stuff what so ever in it, so im not about to add all of it back (if i could find stuff to work in the first place). I was thinking it may throw a code and run rich or something if its not opperating properly.
