replace a c6 tranny with a e4od

Is this possible to take out a c6 tranny and replace it with a e4od?
My 1996 f250 has no overdrive button on shifter or on dash.
Please let me know what would be involved in this change

try the tranny forum. but the 2 trannies are very different the e40d is not very durable the c-6 is almost bullet proof.

I've read you can have a tranny shop put in an overdrive on a C6. Dunno the cost or how it works...

Good luck
