Ok, I believe I have found a great donor truck. its a 96 f250 460 4x4 with 99k miles. e4od tranny


My truck is a 96 f350 460 4x4 with a c6 tranny 69k miles.


How hard will it be to swap the e40d and my c6? do the wiring harnesses just unplug and swap or will I be tracking and splicing wires? is swapping the computers a big deal?


with the complete truck I think Id be ok. any Ideas, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.


the reason for the swap is my c6 is junk, broken case. As long as I am looking to replace overdrive seems to be the way to go. and from what I understand is by 96 the e4od was a pretty reliable tranny.

sounds like a perfect donor for the swap to me.the pcm is easy enough to change.so should be the wiring harnesses,trans,cross member,drive shaft etc.
