Do they make shells for 5 1/2 foot bed?

I'm guessing a shell 5 1/2 feet long is rare. And a camper that size would really be out of the question, unless one of you fine folks know otherwise.

I don't think they are rare. See lots around here.
This site is the first one that showed. I think every big maker makes em.

Great Site

Great web site, thanks! Now for a challenge, how about a camper with a sleeper for the shortbed?

A slide in camper may not be the right thing to do with a F150.
Check owners manual.

The shells for the 5.5" bed aren't rare, the first shop we went to had 3 on the lot. I found the shell for my Screw in the color I needed the same day I went shopping, didn't even have to be ordered. As for a slide in for the screw, I would think that probably only a lighter pop up slide in would be a good idea for that truck. I just read the door jam and my truck is rated at 1491 lbs of payload, that's passengers, gear, etc total. That would only leave room for a rather small slide in, IMHO less than 800-900lbs at most in order to leave room for gear.

You can get small pop-ups for the 5.5 foot bed.

Check out www.fourwheelcampers.com

Pretty low weight, and just the basics. Unlikely to exceed your rear axle ratings.

Although, the only F150 model rated to carry a slide in camper by Ford is the F150 HD model.

Leer makes them. I've got a model 100XQ on my S-Crew and am very impressed with fit and quality.
