I've strated getting a "Low fuel Warning" from the LCD display panel when I still show a 1/4 tank of gas according to the gauge??? When I cycle through to the "miles to empty" display it shows a very low number like 30 something miles to empty. SO.. Is the display right or the Gauge? I guess I can take a spare can along and run it out to see but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows if there is a reset to sync the display and gauge back up.
My warning comes on at about an 1/8 of a tank, then it goes again in the last three gallons.
If your warning is on, fill it up, and see how many gallons are left in the tank. Then you will know.
I have heard that when the tank is filled, if the key is on, it 'confuses' the gauge. Perhaps that has happened here.

Both gauge and LCD Dispaly were in sync and working properly until just last week. The warning would come with gauge dipping under about 1/8 tank and the display would indicate around 40 some miles to empty.
I would try starting the truck with the trip reset button pressed to enter test mode. From there you can sweep the gauges. This would allow you to make sure they are working correctly.
Until I read this thread I did not know I had a Low Fuel Warning thingy on my '04 XLT. I read my owner manual and sure enough, when you cannot read the gas guage, up pops a notice in the Message Center saying "Stop looking at the Gas Guage and look at me".....A little humor there.
Actually when my tank gets approx less than half full (or empty for the pessimists) I get my Banker and we head to the Gas Robbery Center and fill up.
I do appreciate these type of posts as I learn something new about my rig everytime I read. Thanks.
