cat removal benefits and how to fool comp

i searched and didnt find much info on the benefits of cat removal. it has always been my experience that they are very restricting, but torque loss in some cases can be a factor. but i think the additional flow would outwiegh any small losses due to lessened backpressure (especially with a stock muffler.)

my main question is, can the computer be fooled by putting a resistor in place of the post cat o2 sensors?

you can get MIL elimintators (malfuncion indicator light)

or search for "DIY MIL eliminators"....somehwere there is a parts list to with radio shack part #s, and you can make your own for a few bucks.

Or you can get a custom chip/tuner/programmer that turns off any CEL's

Your benefits, other than more exhaust noise, will be so small, and the potential headaches can be so large!
