i have a 1999 XL 4.2 auto with 3.55 axle. i just installed a Gibson Super Truck exhaust. i like it...i did notice a significant difference in horsepower and torque. they claim about 10-20 horsepower and 20-25 ft. lb of torque...that is probably a fair estimate. the truck was quicker with it. at low RPMs it has a nice throaty rumble...but at higher RPMs you get that v6 resonance. i also get better gas mileage with it..not much 1-2 mpg gain...but it helps with gas prices now. if you are installing the exhaust yourself...the super truck is a small system because it connects to the factory system right after the cats and exits in front of the rear tire. but if was going have a shop install a exhaust system..i would have them use flowmaster 40 mufflers and 3 inch pipes
