So,from what I've read here, our trucks were not undercoated at the factory?
What's a good brand of undercoating to use?
I'm setting up my 02 Screw for the beach.Need to protect it as much as possible from that harsh environment.

The hem flanges on all the new Ford vehicles have been redesigned to let the water flow more freely out of the closures and allow air to circulate and dry the door inners. I heard if you get any new vehicle, spray WD-40 (which means Water Displacement, 40th formula; http://www.wd40.com/AboutUs/our_history.html) in the drain holes along the bottom of the door hem flange.

I took my truck to dealership today. My warranty is good up till dec 17 2005 only if it's rusting from inside out. The dealership said, they would fix all bottoms of all 4 doors because it is rusting from inside out. My problem is this though, no body shop will guarantee after fixing rust problem. I called Ford manfucture CS line & told them my truck is really bad with rust not only on doors. I have now found that the entire bottom of floor board exterior is rusting inside out. I feel that at the factory they never sealed my truck off properly with protective coating.

How many other people have a F150 that is less than 5 years old with rust everywhere. I think it is a defect that Ford needs to fix. My truck is bubbling with rust everywhere! I have had 10 years old vechicles that did not have rust on them!

My truck is only 4 years old and a couple more years I am afraid it will fall apart! I am glad they will try to fix the problem on the doors, but rust is like a cancer you can only slow it down! How many people can we get together with a F150 less than 5 years old that is having the same problems? I have pictures & will be getting more! I have parts on my truck that are ready to break because the rust is so bad!

If Ford doesn't take care of the problem properly I will never spend another dime on Ford again. If they just want to patch the problem then send me on my way I will be done with them! The rust will come back! My 2000 Ford expedition doesn't have rust on it. I will find a truck that doesn't rust!

I will be taking my truck back to dealership tommorrow. I will point out every rust bubble & perferations to them! I am having another check for rust done, this time I will have them look at every spot I see that is perferated! I will keep everybody up to date.

Thank You,
Brian

My 99 is starting to rust at the door bottom, eventhough i used ruststop, and on the inside along the bottom of the tailgate. Not very happy about that. Hey, vwboomer, there is no excuse for a 3 year old truck with 22 K to rust like that.
