BBB Autoline

Has anyone been involved in the new ford litigation program? Their old system for dealing with buy backs and lemon laws was replaced as of May 1st with the BBB Autoline.

I have filed with the BBB autoline last week and awaiting the next few steps and was just trying to get some feedback on the new program. I'm dealing with my second 04 4x4 lariat SC, which has vibrations when braking. The first 04 4x4 lariat SC had the brakes replaced (rotors and pads) three times within 18k, I was told it was just me so i traded it in on another 04 4x4 lariat SC thinking I would just get rid of the problem. Guess what! I'm now at my third attempt again trying to get past the brake vibrations. This time I'm not willing to take the trade in money hit though, so I'm going to see where this BBB Autoline takes the problems.

Aside for the brake vibration issues I am quite happy with the new style, just sucks to be the human crash test dummie for working out the kinks.

Any comments are appreciated, great site by the way.

Just thinking out loud, I would think any Ford service dept. should be able to eliminate brake vibration. I would try another dealer service dept. Good Luck!

Some more info on the brake problems: The issue lies with the OEM rotors are warping.

The first attempt was per a ford bulletin to replace the orginal brake pads with a newly designed pad. The work was directed by ford, not the service dept.

The second attempt was per another service bulletin, which replaced the previous bulletin for pads only. This revised bulletin instructed the service tech to replace the pads and the rotors with newly designed/updated rotors and pads.

The third attempt, was per another service bulletin which replaces the previous two bulletins. This third bulletin was instructing the service tech to replace the previously mentioned rotors with another updated set of rotors and pads.

During the second go around the service dept, and the manager have been great. I'm not sure it is really in thier hands as Ford is actually issuing the revised bulletins on how to correct the work.

Thanks for the reply though, I'm always willing to listen to a fresh view point on this issue.

I had just went through the BBB. I wasn't sure of how it was going to work, but it took like 5 minutes talking to the BBB and they sent me out a packet. I filled out the entire thing, like 2 pages, and sent all of my records from ford, which I just went down to ford and had them print up my entire vehicle repair history. Mailed it back to them, they called me a few days later and let me know that they had received my packet and they would be negotiating with ford. Like three days later she called back and let me know ford had agreed to an exchange. I am being charged 2600 bucks for miles up to the first repair attempt. Ford has 45 days to make this whole thing happen. It was really easy. I going to upgrade the truck this time with all the options I wished I would have got the first time.

What was your issue with the truck? I'm due in about a week for my arbitration hearing. Also, at what milage was you first warranty attempt at fixing the problem? I have heard that under 10k, there is no charge for the mileage. That sounds to good to be true though. Thanks for sharing the info.

The milage on my truck was like 10212. So I wouldn't know if it applied under 10000 miles. My truck was in the shop for a total of 54 days within the last year. For only one of the problems. A screeching coming from the front end. They can't figure it out. It has also been through 2 clutch paks and for the rearend. I didn't have to go to arbitration though. I wouldn't have had any problem with that either though. I chose the new truck rather than the money back. I love the trucks. I just hope I get a better one though.
