Help and advice purchasing 97 F150 5.4L 4x4
Guys,
Looking to purchase a 97 F150 4x4. Are there any typical problems with these models? What kind of gas mileage do they get? Any idea how many miles I can get out of the 4.6/5.4? I've found a couple good looking ones down here in florida. Should I be looking at a different year? I'd like to keep the price under 9 or 10k. I'm moving to colorado this fall thanks to uncle sam so I'd like to park the stang for a while and get a truck again....
thanks for your advice,
Larry

Good truck, they can take a beating. I've got '97 xlt reg cab 4x4. Mileage somewhere around 16 dont know for sure b/c speedo and such are off cause of bigger tires, pretty good mileage though, made 4hr trip down to beach on one tank. No outrageous probs with my truck, most of the probs i have had are caused by my offroad exursions. Obviously more recent model the better, '97 had more kinks in it becasue it was the first yr for that body style. Dont get me wrong still a great truck. I offroad hard, tow hard and it still goin strong. 110K. Figure I can make to 200K easy.
