NEW F350 Tow Command
Picked up my new 2005 Wednesday. Not a whole lot of changes from my 2003, but love driving new trucks off the lot. I like the new Lariat Luxury Group option. Set the thermostat and relax. Also like the new power rear window, the control on the steering wheel, cargo area in the rear of the CC, built in Tow Command.
Has anyone used the new tow command? How does it work?

Tow Command. Seems to be a very reliable and smooth operating system. I only had one scare when one of my "buddies" turned the dash lights all the way down to screw with me. I thought my tow command system had failed. DUUHHHH, the light was off. I was on the way down a steep and long grade at the time. Scared the heqq out of me. Those clowns!!!
I had an after market system in my old truck and hated it. This new Ford tow command one is GREAT.

"Tow Command"
Is simply an Option Package.
Included is the
TorqShift 5R110W transmission that has a Tow/Haul mode
The Electric and heated Trailer Tow Mirrors
The Integrated trailer Brake Controller
If you want info on the capabilities for the 5R110 Tow haul mode that is one set of questions
If you want info on the Trailer Brake Controller that is another set of questions
I assume you mean the trailer brake controller.
I think it is one of the best controllers I have ever used. But it does have a few quirks and limitations.
It will NOT apply or lock a trailers brakes at a stop.
It will NOT provide braking power on any electric over hydraulic brake system.
