7.3 Diesel milage

I'm about to travel just over 100 miles in wilderness country in Idaho. Not exceeding 20 mph, and considering that this is very mountainous country, should I be worried about exceeding the fuel capacity of my 1996 heavy duty F-250? I can carry 37 gallons of diesel fuel in both tanks.
Thanks for the advive,
Jim Campbell

mileage

I spent 10 days in the Flat Tops of Colorado Elk Hunting
My '96 F350 CC crawled all over the place for days on the front
tank alone. Your only talking about 5-8 hours of run time, i don't
see any problem with this. These engines don't suck up much fuel
crawling around at low speeds.

Thanks so much Greg....This was my inclination, but never having driven that distance at such slow speeds raised the question.
Your advice is APPRECIATED,

I'd consider installing a Tru-Cool add-on tranny cooler. I drove over level ground with deep sand, (the beach) not exceeding 25 mph and I could feel the tranny heat up on my feet. I WILL for sure be putting in a cooler before my next trip there.

beach sand

Thanks Steve for the input. How far did you drive through sand before you started to heat up?

Only about 5-10 miles.
25 mph was considered fast, normal speed to handle ruts and cross cuts was about 10 mph.
I just ordered the coolant filter kit, next week it's going to be the Tru-Cool.

amazing

Good luck. That beach sand must have been dry abd loose. Around this state (WA) it tends to pack down.
Thanks,
J

I used to work in the Mtns up the Clearwater River area in Idaho and we would drive around in the hills working for 10 days without any fuel issues with tanks that size of yours. If you are worried, take along an extra 5 gallons or so. I doubt that you will have any problems though.
Enjoy, I miss that area.
