Carb for 1977 F250

I have a 1977 F250 with the original Motorcraft 4350D carb on it. This carb is pretty worn out and I would like to replace it. My question is... What carbs will fit on the stock manifold? I am guessing a Holley 3310 series but I would like to retain the stock fuel line and accelerator linkage connections. I also want it to pass smog check II in California.

What have other people used?

Thanks!!!

I'm not familiar with that particular carb number and you don't say what engine you have. If it is a four barrel, most any four barrel will fit and the aftermarket carb makers have Ford a/t linkage kits.

If it's a two barrel you're limited to a Holley two barrel, stock carb or change the intake manifold to an aftermarket 4bbl unit.

Good luck,
Doc

The 4350 is a spreadbore carb with a unique pattern. It has a spreadbore design with a Holley/Motorcraft squarebore bolt pattern. You can maybe use an adapter plate with long studs to bolt it down.

spreadbore

4350 is a four barrel on a 460 CID mill. Yes, it is a spreadsbore. Holley makes some spreadbores that I will look at. I think the 3310 series are spreadbore carbs. I will check that out.

3310's are squarebore carbs. Were you at, eastbay or westbay? I'm on the island (Alameda).

From what I remember, all of the Holley spreadbores use the Q-Jet pattern and not the Ford pattern. The throttle blades will hit when opened.

Spreadbore pattern

OK, I took the carb off and traced the gasket. Yes, this is a unique pattern spreadbore. It appears that a squarebore pattern will work with an adpater plate or a thick gasket. The original carb is simply worn out. I wanted to go with a Holley replacemetn and was wondering what other guys have done with a stock 460 manifold and different carb.

I went to an older squarebore stock intake at first. Then I stepped up to an Edelbrock Performer with a 750 Edelbrock carb.
