Motorcraft 4350 carb problems
The carb looks like it has been rebuilt recently. I took the top off it looks very clean inside with lots of new parts inside. They installed the top with two gaskets. The secondary fuel valve has been replace with a plug so it only has the main needle and seat. Also the top screws of the carb around the fuel inlet had no stock screws and were tightened extra even excessive tight.
From what I have read these carb are famous for leaking out the top. This carb was rebuilt by someone who new what they were doing so I am going to be very careful adjusting the float. I am going to see about a rebuild kit tommorrow if it not to expensive. There is a diagram how to make a float adjustment tool in my 1977 ford truck manual.I am going to adjust the float so it lets alittle more gas inside the carb. I have read the online help guide in the stickies and I have done this before but any tips or help would be appreciated.
Carb motorcraft 4350 number 2 got a new accelerator pump and the check ball was missing. I cleaned it out real good but this one is running lean also. But this one does run okay with the choke plate closed .
I had the vacuum hoses plugged offf but now I am going to hook everything up (choke pull off ,throttle position solinoid and egr ) to vacuum lines and go from there.
PCV is hooked up correctly so I think the problem may be in the EGR setup.
