lets play dressup! favorite valve cover design or engine dress up kit

im looking at some valve covers to make my motor pretty. yes. pretty. so far im partial to the black ribbed valve covers that said "ford racing" on them. i could care less about the racing part. to me it seems kinds of ricey, but what do you guys think. i havent really found a set of chrome valve covers i like.

also want to pick up a breather. for some reason i love that look.

post some pics of your engine dress up or let me know what you guys think!

Here are what my valve covers look like. I just painted them last week. It took 3-4 days to paint those, I was very meticulous about it but they came out very good i think...

Here is a close-up, I have since removed the paint from the tops of the "racing" letters...

looks great. looks really great!

like the concept, stands out and makes the engine bay look neater.

those are the valve covers i was looking at, except in black. makes me feel better knowing im not gonna get flamed for the racing on the valve covers.

the black ribbed ones like you are talking about look the best to me. thought about investing in some for my 79 400. i like the red paint. makes them stand out. wonder what a blue one would look like on mine. might have to test her out on my motor see how she looks.

Lightbulb

Has anyone ever seen a 'designer' cover for a straight six?
So far I have only cleaned everything up & painted the raised Ford / EFI you see in this pic.

Semi, what kind of paint did you use on the intake? Nice job on the clean up, think its time I did that to my engine.

Here is the final picture of my valve cover, the difference is that I have removed the paint on the top of the "racing" letters.

Both valve covers are painted that way, and my upper intake is painted to match (bad pic but gives you an idea).

I used some spray paint from Home Depot, matched the colors up.

It has 2-3 coats of primer, 2-3 coats of paint, and 1 coat of clear....all thin coats though.
