35's on stock suspension

does anyone know if it is possible to fit 35's on stock suspension. I know that there will be some pretty severe rubbing on the frame and bumper but will they hit the fenders. if so i could space the bumper and probably deal with the rubbing.

I think you would need a ton of bumper spacing if it is even possible to get enough. You didn't post what year it is, but on my 93 my 32x11.50's required bumper spacing. You would also require some pretty extensive surgery with the sawzall to even come close.

There is a chart on the red linked page in my signature that lists the tire sizes and amount of lift that is commonly "doable" without rubbing. 35's WILL rub on raduis arms, fenders, AND front bumper on just about every model Bronco with OEM suspension. The ONLY exception MIGHT be a 78-79 model with brand new springs under it.

33's are the max that I know about, but remember that your suspension has to work and a fit at stasis or nuetral height will not work when you drop the first tire in the dirt, it will more than rub and something will give.

Even if you could shoehorn some 35"s in there, that truck would go down the road like crap. You wouldnt have any power.

You better believe WheelMA1. Slapping 35" tires on axles with the stock gearing will completely ruin your performance and fuel mileage.

Question How about 32's on stock rims??

I looked over the FAQ's and it says I can put 32's on my Bronco without a lift. Will these fit my stock rims? The tire size I would need is 32/11.5-15.

Thanks
Nick

What width rims do you have? I'm pretty sure from all my references that you will need at least an 8" wide (probably 8.5") for the 11.5" tires. Also remember that your suspension has travel and check out the tires and their travel as well as you can prior to heading to the woods. If it's in Streaks FAQ's I'd bet on it being correct.

I have totally stock stuff, and my 35s fit fine, except they slightly rub on VERY sharp turns. No clearance probs whatsoever though.

The final answer is, yes you can do it; and no, I don't recommend it without a lift. I've seen it done, the poster above said that he did it too. I personally do not like the way that it looks, but that is a matter of opinion. And with no lift and 35's, you can be sure that if you do some heavy off roading with a lot of rocks and bumps, you are gonna rub all over the place and perhaps even gouge the tires to the point of ruining them.

In the real world, don't go any higher than 31's if the truck is stock, with stock wheels. Just because something _can_ be done doesn't mean that it _should_ be done.

The limiting factor on the OEM rims is the width. Rim width should not be less than 2-2.5" narrower than the tire section width otherwise you are putting a lot of undue stress on the tire bead especially in off-road situations. This is not my recommendation but rather the limitation put on by most tire manufacturers. Again, yeah , you can MAKE something fit. The real answer lies in whether you SHOULD in good safety consciousness.
