Cool Folding down the front windshield

Yesterday I tried to fold down the windshield of my 67 Wagon for the first time, and had a problem. I took out the two silver dash knobs, but it didn't want to fold down.

Am I missing another screw or is something just stuck? If it's just stuck, what's the best way to unstick it?

Anyone else ever have this problem?

With the top off and the windshield screws out it should lay forward. A couple of possibilities are a rusted hinge, bond between the windshield frame and the body, paint in the hinge. You may try some penetrating oil or spray to break it up.
Does it attempt to move at all or is it solid?

It doesn't seem to budge at all. I worry about pushing too much because I don't want to bend the windshield frame or the hinge.

I'm pretty sure it's been painted since the last time it was laid down, so that could be it. Is there a type of penetrating oil that would get through the paint without totally messing up the finish?

I'm not aware of anything that would soften the paint without ruining the paint on the hinge. It does sound like the paint is pretty thick on the hinge though and it may be what is causing your problem.

With the winshield in place, you should be able to push on it pretty hard before you would bend the frame. They are pretty strong.
