I have a new mirror that I am getting ready to install but can't get the darn thing to move back to the normal position. It is folded "out" about 3/4" as opposed to folded "in". Are either of the two screws below a tension adjustment screw? I don't really want to bolt it to the door before I get it folded in to it's normal position.
I'm not certain what the screw on the bottom does, or if it is related to tension. I do know that folding these mirrors when they are not mounted is hard to do. If it is mounted, it should be much easier to move. Just curious, but what brand mirror did you get?
You were exactly right. I mounted the mirror and a baby could have moved it. My strength isn't anything like it used to be. I got the mirror from a dealer but think it's aftermarket. I don't see any Ford part number on it.

Since it has that little screw that holds the mounting pad in place, I'm inclined to think that it may be a Ford part, but it may be aftermarket replacement. What was their price on it? Just curious.
