How fast can you go in 4wd?

4 Hi steering in snow
I do not see a problem running fast in 4x4 as long as you are not on a paved surface.
You say 55 is the maximum speed you should go in 4x4, why? What if you are out sliding sideways on an on/off ramp for fun before the plows can get to it?
I don't do it much in 4x4 (pushes too much, cannot steer with your right foot), but when I do, I do it fast with no concerns.

4x4 hi is good for any speed
Hey guys - I have an 07 F-150 crew cab with 4x4. I drove up to Plattsburgh NY from Albany NY before the plows got to the fast lane. Cars were doing 30-50 in the slow lane and I wanted to kick ***...
I did 80 in the fast snow lane for 3 hours straight. The 4wd made it so I could stay in the lane without fish-tailing. I started the trip out at 55 and slowly increased the speed until I felt comfortable. I slowed down occasionally to be safe, but I stayed in the "fun" lane the whole 180 miles and had no problems.
Use your own judgment here people... but I'm stating it outright

In 4HI,
You shouldn't have a need to go faster than 45 or 50MPH off road; in a stock truck, that's down-right scary but fun, I guess.
In 4LO, 15MPH tops, depending on what gearing you're running.
I can't run 4WD on pavement with my truck; take a chance of binding or snapping something.
Have a great one!
