Possible Transmission Problem?

Over the last several months, only had the truck since mid-August, I sometimes look at the dash and see that the OD is off. The first couple of times I thought I might have pushed the button when shifting into gear, but this last time I am sure I did not. It will go back into OD as soon as I push the button. Again this seems to happen about once a week. I have made an appointment for next Monday, hopefully nothing too major. My last Ford conversion van, eat transmissions like they were going out of style. has anybody else had this problem, and if so what was the cause?

It is so easy to do on this truck. The button sticks out and if you reach for the radio, you can hit the button and not even know it. This has happend multiple times to me. You can run the truck just fine without ever using OD. It is strictly for gas mileage. The 97 - 03 had the button recessed so this didn't happen.
