That’s your upper control arm hitting the coil spring.
I *might* be seeing this on my F150. I notice that the coil spring and control arm are very close together when at rest. And sometimes when I hit a bump (at speed through an intersection or maybe a speedbump) that makes my front tires travel downward very quickly, I think I hear a knock. But I'm not sure if that was there before. Also, I wonder if the bigger, heavier wheels and tires (Nitto TG 325/60/18) affect how much negative travel occurs (downward).

I'm not sure why Daystar would be any different than the others though. If they all lift the front 2.5", shouldn't the control arm and coil spring be that close together on any leveled truck?

The spindle shouldn't hit the spring, but the way the kit was made at full extension it does. I have the Skyjacker 2.5 spacers and it does the same thing. I assume the squeaks come from the material the spacers are made from. Is that a bad thing? I don't really care my lift is just for looks.

Im going to use the daystar leveling kit on my reg. cab 2wd pickup. Im gonna use a 1 1/2 inch lift. Will I need a alignment also if so how do they allign all four? I thought you could only allign the front end.

I would highly recommend an alignment.

I would consider myself a 7 out of 10 on the mechanically inclined poll. Could I install the kit myself? I think it is a must, and did I read that it is only $120.

You should be able to do it as long as you have the proper tools. I created a post some time back about my 'do it yourself' install. It is full of little things the instructions don't tell you. My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you have a really good spring compressor and alot of patience. Follow the instructions and you should be able to complete the job in 3 or 4 hours. Make sure you read my post 'Daystar Install' before you get started, it may make the decision for you.

It is simple. Look at my instructions HERE I posted a lot of pictures and some sizes of the sockets you will need.

To get the lift without reducing wheel travel, you would have to go with a kit that drops the lower arm and spaces the hub down from the upper arm. That's how the kits with more lift get the height. Is that what the Autospring kit does? Who carries it, and how does price compare?
