I get 15-16 mpg in my 48 stock setup. With the OD and you might do better.

The Flatmotor is better measured in "Smiles Per Gallon"

My '51 V-8 overdrive used to get 20mpg. After a rebuild to stock specs, it only gets about 15, I guess the motor is tighter.

With my stock set-up, including 239 V8, Heavy Duty 3 speed transmission, and 4.86 rear end, I've done as well as 18 MPG
