when I got my 51 f1 the rear passenger fender (front portion) had been hammered and hamered until they could mount the spare tire between the fender and the cab. the fender is ruined not only by that but alot of rust along the back and upper portion.
where was the spare tire originally suppossed to go?

 

It is usually mounted under the frame at the rear on a carrier. The carrier is held up with two special bolts that have a u-joint. See my gallery for a photo of these bolts. ...Terry
