i think they make the front end heavier so that under extreme braking, going downhill, the rear end lifts up, or does an 'endo'. many people know that is crucial to truck owners.

I agree with garrett, that the 250 is a great, heavy work truck. I think that it got heavier beacsue it got bigger. My truck looks like a ranchero (or f6 tornado) next to my cousin's 04.

Also, my truck is white. But my cousins is silver. I hear the silver paint weighs more per quart.

It's an old concept actually. Chrystler calls it their "Cab Forward" design. Most Japs make their cars/trucks this way. It IS for more interior space, as opposed to having a huge front end like a vette with no cab room, the engine is pushed forward to make more room in the interior. This is the ONLY reason for this. From an engineering standpoint, it would be best to place the motor in the center of the vehicle to distribute the weight equally between the front and the rear. Most Sport motorcycles are designed this way, a/k/a crotch rockets. This will yeild the overall best performance. Pushing the motor forward is not for better snow traction.

hmmmmmmmm. thats an interesting concept. a diesel 4.2. Yes, diesels last way longer than gas does, BUT is the extra cost really worth it? My friend had a 96 F-250 diesel, It took 10 quarts of oil. Maintenance is the same interval @ 5000.

So far theres been no confirmation the 4.2L diesel has made it past the planning stages. There has been talk about it for long time, but having a diesel pass light duty truck smog is hard. Id like to see that in text, if you dont mind hooking me up, Doc?
