Mil1ion,I see you rented a Jetta !

That Jetta took me about 1350 mile on 27 gallons of fuel. The combined mileage worked out to 51 MPG.
The car rented for $210/wk
I couldn't afford $300 to $400 in Gasoline.
I talked with personel at several Ford dealership's about Ford putting diesel engines in cars & small trucks to the F150.
They all agreed that would boost business for them.
Then they would just sit on their thumbs until the vehicles wore out

ford has a ranger with a 2.5 litre diesel... available in europe anyway... european governments came up with a bunch of subsidies for manufacturers to make more diesel cars and save gas

That's a fallacy Andy.
The new diesels don't contaminate the air like the old Mercedes did from years ago.
That 2.0L has more than enough power to run a ranger.
Michelle & I love that car, next time I will try for a Passat.
IMO,The Jetta needs 70 series tires to smooth out the ride some.
I can't talk about my driving technique on FTE due the fact I may incriminate myself.
Michelle knows how good a driver I am & that's all that counts

I know if I'm riding my softail, being behind a diesel is VERY uncomfortable for breathing...
