That just don't make sense, I mean, Lightnings are supposed to do 14's rock stock outta' the box. Did you get the truck tuned professionally? You may need to pop some slightly (like...48 pound or bigger) injectors in it to get that magic mix. Nice reaction time though, what RPM are you leaving the line at? I know for a fact (because the lightning I was racing did it) that if you leave the line at the wrong RPM, then all you make is one helluva smoke bomb. What tires are you running? That could be the culprit, or if you really wanted to, you could spring for some slapper bars.

If you can get your hands on a set of sticky tires, that would definatly help out. Try making a few passes without your chip. I had a *****ty tune in mine and it killed my truck by almost a half a second and 5mph. For a comparison, my truck with nothing but a Mac CAI and a 90mm mass air meter (my truck is a 2000 and came stock with an 80mm unit) ran a 13.77 @ 99mph. With the same set up and my chip installed, the truck fell to 14.29 @ 94mph. Why it did that, I dont know butwhen I took that chip out, it ran so much better. I made 3 passes to make sure it wasnt a fluke and had MT ET Street tires on it for no tire spin. I have run my truck with the 4# pulley and no chip, just make sure you have good gas in it and it will be fine. Your 60 foot is a little slow, was it spinning the tires? I do agree that the truck should be signifigantly faster, mid 13's I'd think. I am in the Phoenix area and if you are close to me, you are more than welcome to use my tires for a few passes if that helps. Other than that, thats all I can think of besides some sort of mechanical failure that would cause the truck to slow down some. But it isnt slow enuf for me to suspect that. Good luck and keep us posted!

These are the best of the six runs I did that night, three with the chip, three without. They were run in mid June last year in the AZ heat, close to 90 degrees at night on a 2000L with approx 68000 miles at the time. Also forgot to mention that I did have a Flowmaster on it too but thats it for bolt ons at the time.

Also, I seriously doubt you need injectors in the truck. I have since upped my pulley size to 6#'s if I go to the track and have also put on a slew of other mods and haven't had the need for injectors. I'm still running the 42# injectors and they are feeding my truck just fine, all the way to the mid 12's and over 400rwhp. My suggestion is to take it to a shop that specializes in Lightnings or at least performance vehicles with a dyno and have them check it out.

I don't know how the #4 pulley reacts at lower rpm but from my experience I've always lauched from 1500 to 2000 rpms. You need to practice your launches though, you can't go WOT from green. My best friend has a '02 corvette & i would pull a truck length off the line unless i did not have my rpms up at green.

Is your truck a dawg off of the line? Do you have any L Brothern around your area that would give you a ride in their Beast? When I purchased my L brand spanken new it was a dawg off of the line. I just didn't know it until I rode with a buddy in his L. I knew then that something was wrong. Turns out it was the IC pump. It hadn't worked from the day I drove it off of the lot. The pump had a bad connection.
Your times and MPH look very similar to what I was running when the IC wasn't working. Either way, loosing the benifit of your IC will net you a loss of approximately 65 HP according to the SVT Master Mechanic that repaired my truck.
If the IC pump is working, make sure your boost by-pass kit is connected correctly. I would definitely give Sal a call to help troubleshoot the problem.
There is definitely something wrong with your Beast and IMHO I would not run your truck hard until you find the problem. Best of luck to you getting it figured out.
