Thanks for the input.

maybe a situation where you turn the wheel and stress the wire to sensors .
Just a few suggestions .
When you first start your truck the computer cycles through all warning systems .does the abs light come on then off ?

Very common problem with the super duty is that the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) goes bad. It can and will exhibit the exact symptoms you described. (and did so on my truck) The VSS is located on the center top of your rearend has a single bolt holding it in and a couple of wires leading to it. Go down to your local Ford dealer and buy another. I think mine cost about 26 bucks and replace yours. If I were a betting man I would guess that your problems will then clear up.

Code reader
Rather than going to your local Ford dealer and buying parts based on somebody else's fix, find a buddy with a code reader and pull the code when the abs light is on. All of these systems run back through the OBD II. The abs light came on intermitently on my 2000 F150 7700. Eventually it stayed on. My nieghbor pulled the code and reset the flag. Restarted the truck and light came back on. The code indicated that the abs pump was bad (about $800). Took it to my dealer, and had it repaired (under Fords post warranty assistance program since the truck was about 2 months out of warranty)..
About 9 months later the light was on again, had it checked and problem was a broken sensor on the front wheel (I had buried right side of truck in blue mud during the summer
