Superchips 1715- computer reset

Just got my 1715 for my 1996 F150 and installed the towing program. The truck idled very high (2000 rpm) and shifted very hard and late. If I unhook the battery for 15 minutes the truck shifts and idles a lot better. Will doing this cause any problems with the towing program? It seems to shift later and firmer than before

Its normal for Ford computers to relearn their idle after reprogramming or resetting the computer. It will not cause problems.

I have to do the same proceedure as you do, 1996 150 5.8.Don't use the the tuner any more since it started to ping, even in tow perf. mode, after a heavy load in perf. mode.
