is the 3.0l engine in the ford taurus/mercury sable the same eninge that is found in the ford ranger? the taurus and sable have turbos and i was wondering if i could find the kit that goes in them for my ranger? or are they different engines?

 

It's the same engine, but uses a different upper intake and a few other minor things on account of them being mounted transversely in the passenger vehicles.

What turbo kit(s) are you referring to?

 

I think you are referring to the 3.0 Duratec engine. This is a 24 valve engine, not a turbo.

 

my mom had a 96 taurus and a 00 sable, both with the 3.0L, and i'm pretty sure they both came with turbos in them, or maybe i'm mistaken?

 

No turbo 3.0s... unless you talk custom. Twin cams yes... turbos not that I'm aware of.

 

guess i never looked under the hood, lol.. me and my dad always thought they had turbos on them.
