Guys, please forgive me but I didn't know where to turn. My wife has a 2000 Sable with the 3.0L DOHC. I'm not sure if this is the same 3.0L as in the Ranger but I figure someone might be able to help. Last week the check engine light popped on and since I was near an Advance Auto, I slid in to get them to check the code. It was something like "insufficient EGR flow". No problem. I replaced the EGR valve, pulled the battery cables for about 30 minutes and went on my way. Sure enough, about 20 miles later, it pops back on.
I "decarboned" my 4.0L Ranger last year per the instructions here on the site (with the PM-3). Is there a way to "decarbon" this engine as well? Should I even look for some other "fix" first?
As always, thanks to anyone for their help and opinions.
P.S. If it matters, this engine has about 80,000 miles.

I have a 2000 sable as well and had the same problem at about 90k mi. Mine turned out to be the DPFE sensor (flow sensor). A new one cost me about $35-$40 at a Ford dealer and it's easy to change.
