Question Hub lock position

I am new to 4-wheeling and have a '99 F350 4X4 diesel with manual 6-speed. I tried pulling my 5 ton boat up a ramp in 4-wheel low and spun the rear wheels. Another friendly boater helped pull me out. I went to my local dealer and he told me about the hub locks, but didn't tell me which direction to turn them and there are no arrows or writing on the hubs. The right wheel hub is turned to the clockwise position, and the left hub is turned to the the counterclockwise position. Can someone tell me which way is locked and which way is unlocked on each wheel? The hub ***** are black plastic. I would also like to know if locking the hubs will help the spinning rear wheel problem. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Normally a clockwise turn until it stops will be the locked position, Sounds like you have one locked and one unlocked.

it should say....get down a few inches from it with a flashlight if you have to and a wet rag and there will be arrows telling you which way to turn!
