The 4" Rancho Lift, installed and ready for use!
Here's my post from "the other site", I thought there my be some that don't cross over, anyway, I'm so stoked on it I had to share again...
Quote from my Rancho Manual, “The required installation time for this system is approximately 7 hours.” Riiiiiiiiiiiggggggggghhhhhhht.... Maybe for Rancho’s senior technician that has worked their since its early days. 16 hours is a little more realistic. Anyway, I finally completed what turned into a week-long project. But as you can see, it was well worth the wait. Here are some final facts and figures:
COST:
All these prices are 20% off. For some reason I was sent a 20% off coupon an ENTIRE purchase from 4Wheel Parts that was attached to the outside of my monthly catalog. None of my other friends got this coupon? My only theory is when I went (by myself) to their Expo Show in San Mateo, CA on March 7th , and entered their $1000 shopping spree promotion, I gave them my address again and they felt sorry for me? Anyway I made them regret sending it to me…
$1104.99 for the Rancho Kit (RS6588Black)
$167.99 for rear pair of RS9000X Shocks (RS99287)
$204.98 for front coil-over pair of RS9000x Shocks (RS99769)
$951.96 for a set of 17X8 Weld Racing Sidewinders
$671.96 for a set of BFG AT/KO LT315/70R17
$111.48 for Top Precision Grill’s Billet Grill
$60.23 for the corresponding Bumper Grill
$42.99 for the Bug Deflector
Total Damage: ~$3625.00
LABOR:
Roughly 18 work hours (Or 1 week if you have another job at the same time!) I should also point out that part of the labor did include the cutting of some metal bracket that mounted the original rear cross-member. The kit was described to me by a Rancho rep as being completely bolt-in. I’m over it now.
HEIGHT INCREASE:
2.25” in the rear and 5.5” in the front (Yes, this FOUR inch lift raised it FIVE and HALF inches!) With the bigger tires, I got SEVEN inches of total lift!
GAS MILEAGE:
Horrible: 11MPG, I'll be getting it re-geared to 4.56's on June 12th.
RIDE:
Identical, unless I loosen or harden it with the 9-way adjustable shocks. No tire rubbing.

Unfortunately.... not yet. Still getting ~10MPG's and hating it. I'm getting close though. I've got a 20% off coupon for 4WPW so I will be getting the gears this month. Then I need to find a good installer to do it at a good price. I am going 4.56's for sure. Between both forums I look at, I've only seen two people that have upped their gears. And both just said that they did it and would not answer any follow up questions that I have posed after. I would love to know how worth it it really is.
On a side note regarding warranty and aftermarket work, I just took my truck in to the Ford Dealership for a check engine light that resulted in a bad throttle sensor. The good news is that he (the service manager) said that pretty much everything is still covered under warranty. Just not the suspension obviously and possibly the main drive axle if they find that it was extended by the lift (which it was not).
Anyway I'll keep you posted on the gears.

just drive your truck .....
drive it like you drive let it adjust to you it will
(just keep the pedal of the floor and try to resist constant kick downs)
just drove 274+ miles on just over half a tank
(5.4L with 6" Lift and large tires - see gallery)

NightReaver!!! your truck is beautiful! I wish they offered lariats in True Blue.
I have been dying to see a new F150 with the american racing Mojave wheels. I think those are sweet and thats what I have been thinking about getting. What is the back spacing? are they 9.5" wide? Are you happy with them or not?
thanks and sweet truck!
