I am wanting to put Rancho RS9000 5 speeed shock's on the rear of my 2000 F350 super duty crew cab with a 5 inch lift but can't find a chart that has the rancho part numbers on it. If anyone has them on the rear of there super duty can you tell me what the part number is? I have them on the front of my truck and the part number is RS9112 I know Rancho does not make these shocks anymore but, I can still get them from a off road store in my town but they don't have the application chart. So any help would be great.
Thanks, Firemandan

can see why, had to take mine back (rancho rs 9000). They'd compress, but wouldn't rebound. (brand spank new) good luck
but, I can still

Some do and some don't, depends on what type of shock it is.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
Gas shocks are conventional shocks that have a high pressure gas acting on the hydraulic fluid to prevent it from becoming aireated. If aireation occurs, the shock will not be able to dampen as well. The air will be passing through the valve along with the hydraulic fluid allowing it to flow easier lessening the dampening effect.
Looks like Rancho has upgraded the RS9000 to a RS9000X and they may now be gas charged. They mention a "cellular gas design," not sure what this means. I don't think the originals were gas charged. When I installed mine they did not "expand" on thier own like a conventional gas shock.

Rodjo, Im not a big mechanic, but all the shocks i've always seen up till i bought the Rancho's, rebounded on their own and real fast. That's allways been sorta the "hard part" of changing shocks, in my time. Seem like a shock, that just stayed in whatever position you pull or push it would be defeating a shocks purpose. I don't know. but the guys at the garage agreed like me that they were "no count" and took them off. May have just been a factory mistake, but hey, that's a little over $300.00, factory mistake.
id rather have a shock that doesnt rebound on its own because then your rebound will be less harsh. The shock is supposed to resist quick hard jolts compressing and rebounding. But i do think the 9000s are nitrogen gas pressurized.
