1968 stepside/flareside help

Hi
i have just purchased a 68 stepside/flareside short bed. Can any one help me find out some of the original specs for this truck? I would like to go back with the original sytl engine and transmission, plus other original parts. The previous owner was in the process of installina a 302 FI with an electronic 4 speed overdrive automatic tranny. My husband just got a 69 F100 longbed, it is already partially restored but any info on either truck would be appreciated.

Best thing is to run your VIN number, make sure the truck matches the frame and stuff, then send to Ford for your build sheet.

Actually Fatty, she won't be able to email you either since she's also too new. If you post the VINs we'll be able to tell you how they were configured originally.

If you wanna post both numbers here, as ric suggested, we can probably help with the decode faster.

Let's see some pictures of that '68! I haven't ever seen another one that's a flare side!

Welcome! Boy, I'd be tempted to keep that 302 FI and auto in there, especially if it's an F100.

Hi

My husband really wants to take it back to a carburated engine. As for as the tranny I prefer to drive a manual.
