8ft Ford Stepside/flareside box-when did they stop making them?

i figured this was the best place to post this, hope im right.

im just wondering how late ford still made and 8ft stepside/flareside box. ive seen some of teh pictures of guys who put the modern box onto older trucks. i am kinda interested in doing so with the 79 as i can not find a correct box for it in nice shape. thankyou

I think in 72 was the last of those 8ft stepsides. It could be earlier. I have seen some 67 to 72 trucks with them.
I plan to fix a couple of 8ft stepsides to make one good one to put on my 85. I think it will be cool and different. When I worked in the body shop. Restored a 68 chevy with 8ft stepside and it looked sharp. I could not understand why everyone wanted a 6ft stepside. The 8ft was more functional.
