1978 F100 Ranger Rear End

Can anyone tell me what rear end gear ratio was standard on a 1978 F100 ranger truck? I know that it is an open spider gear rear end, but there is no tags on the hogs head anywhere. I have dropped in a built 460ci and will be swapping the rear end for a ford 9 in" and I was wanting to keep the same ration as the stock rear end if I just knew what it was. Is there anyway I could tell what it is by the vin# ? Anyone that can help I sure would appreciate it.

It has a 9" stock. It could have been ordered with most any ratio. Most common ? Probably 3.00's or somewhere around there. And yes you can tell for sure by the door tag. 3.89 would liven it up.
