Axle codes

Hi,

I have a 1977 F100 with the axle code (metal tag on drivers door)of 12 and a 1978 F100 with a code of 13J. Can anyone tell what this stands for. They both are the 9" rearend. I have a Chilton manual and it shows those numbers but it is not listed under the years I have. I'd like to know if the ratio and if by chance if it is a limited slip.

Thanks

I just did a search and found a link. The 12 is a 3:00 ratio and the 13J is a 2.75 ratio and the J stands for power steering. Does anyone know if I can tell if it would be limited slip or not? Would it have to be taken apart or did they even offer that in a 2wd truck? Any thoughts are appreciated.
