What you should also look at is , the weld around each port, should stick up 1.16" or more , so when you put your gasket in place it well seat tight, i have headers on my F-250 (390) 75 truck and every time i do a starter i have to pull the header off , a slight pain ! ! yours may be different?

I just put the Gibson stainless-steel headers on my truck two weekends ago. It wasn't as big of a process as I thought it might be, it took about 4.5 hours to do both sides.

I noticed a difference in power and a little sound difference as well, not to mention I'm getting about another mile per gallon on my 5.4L engine now.

Just an FYI, I got the headers which came with all the bolts needed supposedly, but one of the bolts they provided was too long to fit into the spot. So I had to go to the local hardware store and get a 2 1/4 inch long half inch bolt... I'm not sure why they didn't send a bolt that would actually fit, but they did. I thought I made the mistake at first and was using the wrong bolts, but they are the only ones that even come close to fitting. Anyway, thats just a heads up for you

Hope you like the headers.

well, i got the headers put on, all i have left now it to wait till my dipstick tube comes in that i managed to break well trying to get it out. Intall was not to bad, passenger side was simple, well drivers was a bit more complex, well removing the drivers side manifold i broke one of the studs off, leaving only about a inch exposed, i tried welding a nut on the end of it, but it was seized so bad in the head, that the weld on the nut broke from wrenching on it so hard, so i ended up leaving that stud in, i was able in get a nut started on it, so i think it will be ok, i am going to just tack weld the nut on there so it won't back off, i hate to but i see no other way at this point, another thing was getting the 4 bolts out of front driveshaft, finally after two days of soaking them with wd40, i was able to free them, with a wrench and a piece of pipe, and lots of force. I recommend if one wants headers, don't wait till truck has 150,000 miles on it, things are really rusted in them by than. Egr was also fun, took a few times with torch to get that out. But all in all it went well, just not as good as i was hoping. now i just wait for the dipstick tube to come in so i can fire it up.
