first let me say thanks in advance.i have a 99 ford e350 van with a v10 engine. the van has 99 thousand miles i had to replace the engine at 78 thousand.my problem is sometimes when i try to start my van it justs cranks and wont start until i hold the throttle wide open then it starts up.this will happen if the engine is hot or cold.

 

It's your IAC valve.

It's easy really just hard to reach. 2 bolts(which you don't want to drop) It's on the back of the trottle body facing the firewall. Remove the 1" dia hose, wire harness, 2 bolts. Watch out for the gasket too. I bought a new one just in case. You can follow the hoses off the intake to find it.

 

Thanks v10man. Did you get the gasket at the Ford parts counter too, or don't they carry that? If you have a P/N too for the valve, that'd be great! TIA.
