power outlet problem

My 200 Ford Expedition power outlets stoppeed working. The kids plugged in their TV/Playstation (as they've done so for years) and the rear console (behind the front seat) power outlet stopped working. We then used the front power outlet next to the cig. lighter. It worked for awhile but also stopped working. The cig. lighter does work. I checked the manual for fuse location, but could not find any. Anyone know where I need to check to get these working agian or how to fix the problem?
Thanks

There are fuses under the hood, and in the passenger compartment. Check both of them. If that doesn't work, I would be willing to bet that the outlet has bit the dust and needs to be replaced with a new one.

Both of those outlets run off of the same 15AMP fuse If I remember right.... When the Hurricaine rolled through VA last year, I ran a Power invertor off the beast for a long time ... the fuse popped a few times.... If I remember right it was in the panel under the dash

I remember using an adapter to plug in a tv, laptop, and a cd player into the single rear port on my expy. I smelled something burning, and I had melted the plug. I never popped a fuse, or wrecked the outlet. I never could figure that one out.

Have you tried hooking something else into the outlets? Perhaps the problem is the TV/Playstation and not the expy.

Being that I searched high and low online to get answers to this very same issue and finally came across a technician at Ford who actually knew what he was talking about, I am please to provide the information to address this problem. I see that the last thread on this post was over 2 years ago, so I guess it is about time. There is a fuse box under the hood called the battery junction box, the AUXILIARY POWER POINT fuse is fuse # 1 under the hood and it is a 20 amp fuse. This power source is not run on the same fuse as the cigarrette lighter and is always hot, meaning the car doesn't have to be on in order for it to be on, which I assume is the reason in is within the battery area. Not a tecnician, just an Expedition Driver that has two kids and a DVD player that wasn't working, and they were driving me nuts!!! Hope this helps anyone else out there who may have a similar problem.

well what this thread is about are the 12v cigarette lighter/outputs. I dont think you could get any expy's with the AC plugs built in.. could be wrong on that I suppose. I've used power inverters in the past, they are very "hideable" under the front seats and can power anything from a blender to a laptop depending on size.
