What is a FMX Trans? Is it a C-4,C-6 or was it built before these trans? Is it a car trans that works well in a truck?

Big heavy cast-iron pig. It works well enough and is very strong, but it's nowhere as good a tranny as either the C4 or C6. It was the basis for the current AOD/AODE/4R70W. Not something I'd run out and buy but if you have a good one, go ahead and use it
