Is the MSRP usually higher or lower that the price you will pay when in the end?

Spooky,
MSRP is the full retail price the dealer and manufacture dream about getting. They get it from unsuspecting buyers.
Hang around here and read and learn. Check out the New Truck Buyers area of the forum lots of good info.
In nutsell you should do your homework on what exact model and options you want, then go to www.Kbb.com and build it. Print it out and then take it with you. There will be two prices on it, MSRP and Invoice. Invoice is what the dealer pays before any hold backs they get from the manufacture.
You should be able to buy any vehicle for Invoice before you deduct any rebates. Then you just add tax, license, destination, fuel charges and sometimes manufacture area advertising fee. Bottom line negotiate to invoice first.
If you do your homework you can even purchase a little below invoice.
Good luck.

Ford.com will let you build your truck also. Much better than KBB! Hold back on ford is 3.25% of MSRP. A blue oval dealer gets another 1.25% of invoice. MSRP on my truck was $47,300, invoice was $40,050. If they sold it to me for invoice the dealership would make about $2,000. I told them what options i wanted on my truck and that I would give them $38,000 for it. After the smoke cleared, drive off the lot @ $38,280. Do some internet searches on Hold back and blue oval dealers. take this info into the dealer. An informed buyer will get the best deal.
Good luck!

Definately do your home work. KBB is great so is the ford web site. IF you find the truck you want on the lot get the vin of the sticker and find the invoice on that truck on the ford web site.
Always negotiate out the door price.........
My truck was MSRP of 44,080
Dealer invoice was 37,500.
I took invoice + state tax + 200 to register it = out the door price
This will not allow them to charge for gas, advertising, paperwork and other crap.
This way they have to take your out the door price and work backwords off of that number.
and trust me THEY STILL MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOU
GOOD LUCK
