1982 Ford Bronco
hey im thinking of drivng and going too look at a 1982 FORD BRONCO
but i have some basic questions
(heres the ad: 1982 FORD BRONCO, built 460, C/6 auto transmission, custom front/ rear bumpers, Ramsey winch, 35 inch tires, must see. $4300)
i was wondering about some basic stuff about the
460..
how many quarts of oil does this take?
whats the stock hp/trq?
what filter number for like pureones/mobil 1/K&N
(what ever flter just getting prices)
then off to the c/6 trans
i see people here and there saying they are chaning to other trans... is this going to hold up/
and where are some good sites to guy tires.. i will want on/off-road tires

california sucks.
when i got my 83, first thing i inquired about was dual exhaust. i was told by a good exhaust shoppe nearby, it couldn't legally be done, due to having two cat's, (a pre and main). maybe it is something just for calif emissions vehicles. anyway, the shoppe said i could go with 3" pipe after the cat for a more throaty sound. might be my next move.

To swap from a C6 to an NP435, he needs the bell housing, clutch, flywheel, etc., all the linkage (or hydraulics if it's hydraulic), the pedals, the pedal rod, and the floor pan. Or, you can cut a hole in your current floor pan and floor mat/carpet.
It's some work, but it's doable.

My pleasure!
Here's a detailed picture writeup I did of the swap.
Considering I was changing out the clutch and transmission for an entirely different setup, I can't see very many differences between what I did, and what would need to be done to go from an auto to a manual.
1981 Ford Bronco NP435 Swap
The only other things I can see are A) Removing the auto shifter from the column. And B) putting a clutch onto the engine.
