i installed a new tps sensor hoping that would fix my idle problem(didnt fix) so i tried to check voltage for iac, i didnt get any reading on voltage. Do i have bad wiring to iac ? thanks for your help in advance
You should have 12 volts to the IAC on the red wire with the key in the 'on' position. Be sure to back probe the connector so that you don't mess up the electrical terminals.
i check for voltage on the back of connector but still have no juice, also i notice that my coolant sensor and tps are on the same group of wires, is it possible that i may have a short or bad computer?
I'd be more inclined to say it's in the wiring. The computers usually last longer than the vehicle. Get a good wiring diagram that lists the pin numbers on the computer connector, then probe there and check continuity and resistance between the computer connector and the actuators/sensors at the other end of the wire. Do you have a Haynes manual? They are very helpful with wiring diagrams and test procedures.
Check wiring first before you throw down money for a new computer. It is a possibility, though. The first computer I had with my mass air swap wouldn't go into self test mode, which I attributed to a bad sigrtn pin on the computer. I would definitely check all the computer grounds to make sure they are secure and tight, and have little resistance between them and the negative battery post (<5 ohms).
