Throttle response calibrator? Or Chip

I have an 88 Bronco 5.0L. I was looking through summit magazine and saw something called a throttle response calibrator by caspers electronics. It says it plugs into your throttle position sensor and optimizes your engine computer to advance ignition timing and increase air/fuel delivery when your throttle is 70% open. It claims it gives you better throttle response with no hesitation. Will this work for my truck and if so does it work? Has anyone messed with one of these? I want to chip my truck but no one seems to carry one. I called diablo chips and they said they don't know why but in every bronco they chip it burns out all the computer system! I don't want that to happen so I don't know if anyone else carrys them, or if that throttle response thingy even will work? Help please! Thanks
