95 F150, 4R70W Problems
Replaced tranny with known good tranny of the same. One problem still exists. Slipping when I get on the pedal hard or when it reaches top of gear (feels like a delayed shift). Not much info on this. Played around with MLP position. Only will shift with MLP rotated to the max in one direction. MLP bad? Is there an ohm test like a TPS? Need help, trannys are voodoo to me...don't want to blow this tranny, only 8000 miles.

My father had a similar problem with his '95, it shuttered as it went into overdrive. We thought it was bad torque converter, maybe computer glitch, tranny going bad and a number of other nightmares. We took the truck to a local transmission shop and all they did was tighten the transmission's valve body bolts along with a new filter and fluid. They said they see this alot with this Ford tranny, the bolts get loose (who knows how) which creates pressure losses in the valve body causing irregular shifts. After they did this service the ranny works fine and it has over 170000 miles on it (50000) after fix. I hope this helps in any way.

must change tranny fluid (back flush) about a 100 bucks. these systems sensitive to dirty fluid. i also purchased a electronic device from a place in canada i think at autotran.com but you can search for it. you can adjust line pressure and lock out delay. i set mind to shift a little harder and to delay the lock out time so it want bog down. it works great. bwana
