Brake Dust

Ladies and Gents,
The brake dust on my FX4 is killing me. Anybody else having a problem with it? Maybe I'm paranoid, but I definetly find I have to clean off my front wheels every 200-250 miles to keep them looking nice. As aftermarket brake pads become available, I am looking for a change. Anybody have any suggestions?

I am having that problem, too. I wash the truck once a week if the weather permits. I first noticed the problem on FX-4s when I first drove one and noticed the test drive truck that they were letting people drive had it. Didnt phase me non in buying it. I use McGuires wheel cleaner for it. It works pretty good. McGuires Car Wash works great, too.

My father in law who worked at Michigan Truck for 35 yrs said there's a cover you can get to keep the dust off the rim, I guess it goes over the caliper or something. Anyone heard of these?

My 04 Lariat 4X2 front pads dirty the wheels within 250 miles also. I'm gonna change pads.

The 03 Expedition has the same issue, Massive break dust ! Enough people have complained that there is a TSB about replacing the pads with a new version for free. Maybe they will start using the newer pad design on the 04's.

Ceramic brake pads are supposed to fix all that plus increase stopping sistances. I haven't heard of any rewiews yet but that's what they advertise.
