Brake Dust shields

Ok, this may be a bit gay, but I am tired of scrubbing the brake dust off my wheels on my 2002 F350. I am looking for the shields or covers that go on the inside of the wheels that protect them from the brake dust. I found 16" but I cannot find any for 8 lug wheels. Anybody ever use these? Are the worth it? Where did you find them? THANKS!

Never seen them on a superduty. You might want to try better brake pads, say Hawks. I don't have much if any dust on my rims now that I've switched.

How much are you looking to spend? I've got a set of Centramatics on my truck. Not exactly dust shields, but they'll serve the purpose.

I've never had a brake dust issue, but these cover them up so I don't see how the brake dust will be able to get on your wheels.

No, I just did the fronts, Backs are still OEM and look like new. I did put Hawk on all 4 corners.

I think they have them at stylinconcepts dot com. But just put the money you would spend on those towards some ceramic pads and you will have better stopping power and no more dust.

Chris... I've been curious about these things for some time now, and have a couple of questions.

1) Are you running the Centramatics on all four corners? Just front? Just back?
2) Do you feel they are worth the money? If so, why?
3) Is there anything about them you don't like? What and why?
4) This is related to #2, but would you purchase them again for another truck?

I had some of the kleen wheels on my old truck and they worked pretty good actually. I just ordered me a set for my current and imo they do pretty good.

Do you have any reason to suspect that the shields reduce air flow to the calipers and rotors and thereby allow for higher operating temperatures on the braking system? That's really my biggest concern with them.

Another concern, though, is the practical issue of how it looks and how easy it is (or is not) to keep that area clean so it doesn't look like it's always grimy with road dirt.

If there is reduced air flow (i.e. reduced cooling to the hardwarre components), it wouldn't be a bad idea to also upgrade your brake fluid to a higher temperature-rated DOT4 fluid if you're not already running that.

Now you got me thinking about it, but when I had them on my Z71, I never noticed any breaking issues. I think the guy I ordered them from said they had a 30 day refund if I was unhappy with my purchase. It was 65.00

I just bought some MT Classic Locks and I want to try and keep those looking as nice as I can.

Where did you get them and how much were they?
